Aanchal Patel won the 2015 Coweta County Spelling Bee held earlier this month at Coweta’s Centre for Performing and Visual Arts.
Patel is a fifth grader at Welch Elementary School. She and Lee Middle School eighth grader, Dynahsty James, vied for the win in the 15th round of the competition. The round ended with Patel correctly spelling “delinquent” and then “intelligible” for the win. As the winner and runner-up, Patel and James each received a Kindle Fire, provided by BB&T of Newnan.
